Something that sits on a shelf and can be printed is easy to price and order on-line.  Something that starts life as a design on a piece of paper and can be made in different materials, produced in different sizes and personalised in different ways is much more difficult. To achieve this requires a lot of time and effort to make sure that all variables link properly and are presented in an easy to understand manner to our client. We have achieved this!!!!

Working from inside their secure area on the website, our clients can choose from different product categories and then create a fully personalised Quotation – correctly priced according to the variables they have chosen. They can then convert this Quotation into a Purchase Order. They can up-load their Artwork for us to work on.

Once this has been done, we request approval of the Artwork we have created for the manufacture of the product. This approval request comes directly from our website.

We then start production and the system automatically advises the client as each stage of the production is complete. These notifications are stored with the order record and are accessible by the client from any internet enabled computer. So, even if the client is not in their office, they can still keep track of what is happening. It saves them time and reduces their stress levels, particularly when the delivery date is critically important.

When clients work with us on-line, we give them discounts – because it saves us time and money too !!

They can add Notes to the order that we can respond to – a much more secure and virus free form of communication than e-mail.

Here at Pinbadge we’re often asked this question. The reason is straightforward – and NO – we’re not increasing our profit at your expense!!!!

The vast majority of our products are manufactuired to order in China. Lanyards are made from bales of material; badges and keychains from strip metal, etc. But one thing they all have in common is labour. All products have a very high labour content, so, to make something more quickly requires more people. More people = more cost.

Another major factor in the cost of any item is the freight element from China. Products produced on a standard 4 week lead-time are bulked together at one central point, bringing together work from several manufacturing partners and this is shipped as a single airfreight consignment. This gives us ( and you) the cheapest method (per item) to ship goods out of China.  We bring 2 consolidated shipments out of China each week.

Items that need to be delivered more quickly can’t benefit from this consolidation – particularly those orders based on a 2 week delivery. These orders need to be shipped to the UK as soon as they are ready. So they are consigned individually on door-to-door carriers (such as DHL, UPS or Fed-Ex). These are much faster services than Airfreight, with the goods arriving at the final destination in the UK in 3-4 days.  The drawback is they are much more expensive – typically 3-4 times per kg more!!!!
